Web sites bring more visitors to your designs

Web sites bring visitors to see your designs

Making a website that reflects you and your work is difficult. Is writing about your work a challenge or a time suck for you and your team? You’re a designer, right?

Are you putting content on the back burner even if it’s the first place potential clients and the media look? A website is the first stop for someone curious about your design work and you.

Does your site speak for your great work? A website is where you decide how to depict yourself and your design.

Does your story make people want to stay and get to know you or do they move on? A website is your domain. the place where you can present your best self as you want to be seen.

Would you like to see your site up and running with images and text?

Looking forward to my story about Moshe Safdie app Looking forward to my story about Moshe Safdie appearing in a few weeks. Will post links. What can designers learn from a starchitect to help their businesses? Here he was talking about humanising the megascale and repossessing the public realm, at Edge, this year’s annual conference of the Australian Institute of Architects. It was the first time since 1959 the AIA held its conference on the Gold Coast.
Safdie designs outside of the box. This was my second interview with him. My first was at the opening of Marina Bay Sands in Singapore (swipe). He has a new building Jewel opening at Singapore’s Changi Airport in 2019.
He designed a master plan for Robins on the Gold Coast in the late 1970s that was never realised. It included a canal on the same scale as the Grand Canal in Venice and the plan would have been a precursor to Marina Bay Sands. Safdie described the mall and home developments that were built at Robina as heartbreaking’. Another in the catalogue of the greatest unbuilt projects. I have worked on a few, writing copy for bids for architects and the design comes alive in your imagination and resides there forever in a kind of parallel universe.
Meanwhile people use the space never knowing how it might have been.

The Gold Coast is destination for the National Arc The Gold Coast is destination for the National Architecture Conference, titled Edge next week.
Looking forward to talks and writing about it.

If you are a publisher or a design firm who’d like a report from the event on a specific angle or to find out what you are missing let me know.
Keynote speaker is Moshe Safdie who I interviewed (along with many others) at opening of the amazing Marina Bay Sands in 2010.

The pod on the right said to the pod on left.... I The pod on the right said to the pod on left.... I have watched this building being made after wondering what would be put on the site. Couldn’t have guessed. It’s a house with the living area in the pod on the right and the sleeping quarters on the left.
Would love to write about it for a mag or the designer.

New block replaces brick veneer flats that had bee New block replaces brick veneer flats that had been part of Rainbow Bay forever.
Quite chunky as new blocks go. The balconies are like indoor/outdoor rooms. Appealing retreat from the sun and breeze. I would want to be from Level 4 up up so I don’t see the road but see beach life. The rear view looks across buildings towards boat harbour and river.
Will add more details in comments as I discover them.
What do you think?
